Program Planning
Measure “L” was the product of a community process which led to the establishment of the Piner-Olivet Union School District School Needs Assessment and Implementation Program. The School Needs Assessment and Implementation Program served as the planning document for the establishment of Measure “L”.
The School Needs Assessment and Implementation Program documents an integrated approach to improving the overall academic experience at Piner-Olivet Union School District. This assessment component reviews the needs at each school, including the District’s charter schools, and provides recommendations for improvements. Methods to enhance sustainability are also reviewed and presented as District wide proposed improvements. Estimated costs, sequencing and financing options are presented for meeting the District’s needs. A proposed overall improvement program has been assembled to transform each school site to further engage student success.
The needs assessment is just the initial step in an overall process to improve local schools. With the passage of Measure “L”, first phase improvements are currently under construction with additional Phase 1 projects scheduled for Summer 2012. Phase 1 improvements include solar and technology improvements at all school sites and modernization improvements to Schaefer Elementary and Olivet Elementary schools.
If you are interested in serving on a site-based committee to provide input on projects at your school site, please contact the Principal.
